RiverTracks works with disengaged high-school-aged young people across the Tweed — and a $50,000 ClubGRANT from the Tweed clubs helped the program grow.
“We help them build skills — trade skills, gardening skills, cooking skills, life skills,” says program manager Christopher Rowland. “Through this we’re able to get them to re-engage with community in a positive, pro-social way.”
“Last year we were a recipient of $50,000 from ClubGRANTS in the Tweed. With that money, we were able to expand our program.”
And for other local organisations wondering whether to apply, Christopher’s experience is encouraging: “The ClubGRANTS process was actually one of the easiest grants I’ve ever applied for… you have contacts you can reach out to the whole way through, and you get really responsive returns. Really easy.”
