PCYC Tweed Heads is a not-for-profit youth charity with a simple focus: giving young people in the Tweed confidence, purpose and a place to belong. ClubGRANTS funding from our clubs is helping them do it.
“We run safer driver programs in conjunction with Transport NSW — creating safer drivers here in the Tweed Shire,” says club manager Corey Oliver. The second funded program is the Indigenous youth program built around Nations of Origin, a carnival in Sydney each July where Indigenous regions from across NSW compete. “Our region is Bundjalung, so we send teams from the Bundjalung region — it’s a really great way to reconnect.”
The heart of the work is the club’s ten-week term program for young people who arrive disengaged and low on confidence. “We really sort of turn them around — help them just in life in general,” Corey says. “We’re very proud to have received funding for two separate programs. We’re really thankful for ClubGRANTS.”
